Ghanaians have been urged to accept to live in peace and total harmony regardless of religious, ethnic and political differences.
The Reverend Ralph Obeng of the Grace Baptist Church, Amakom, Kumasi, said it is important they recognized that progress could only come through unity but not tension and chaos.
Again, they should see themselves as God�s creation and for that matter they are enjoined to serve as �each others keeper.�
The Rev Obeng, who is also the Chaplain of the Kumasi Academy Senior High School, was delivering the sermon at a Church service held to pray for the peace and unity of the nation.
�Maintaining harmonious Relationships,� was the theme.
He said being a human society and with all its imperfections, nobody could pretend that there would not be differences. What was needed was for all to make sure that these were not allowed to tear the nation apart.
There is the need for compromises, tolerance and respect for opinions that �we do not necessarily share.�
The Rev. Obeng said it was high time Ghanaians consciously made efforts to bring about what he termed, �oneness� to promote development.
He made reference to the Biblical story of Cain, who driven by jealousy, killed his brother Abel, and said, �God has never been happy with man turning against his brother.�
The Rev. Obeng urged the people to love each other as expected of the Children of God.
