Minister of Communication, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah is warning all those threatening some chiefs, especially in the Eastern and Volta regions for endorsing President Mahama.

According to him, there is nothing wrong in chiefs recognising and showering praises on a people-centred President for his works.
“It is a strong warning, all those people planning [against the chiefs] should back off; they will not succeed” he stated on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Monday.

The acting paramount chief of Kwahu, Nana Asiedu Agyeman III was subjected to vitriolic attack after he promised President Mahama 85 percent votes in the November elections.

He was reported to have said given what President Mahama has done for the people of Kwahuman and the entire country, he deserves to be given another four-year term.

But the youth and some chiefs condemned his action and called on him to render an unqualified apology to the residents.

The chiefs went further to pacify the land with sheep and schnapps at the Abetifi palace after the endorsement by the chief who is also the Adontenhene of the Kwahu traditional to prevent any wrath from the gods.
However, Dr. Omane Boamah could not fathom why people will insult the Kwahu chief when in fact government has built hospitals, roads and school in his town.

He also cited the Kotoso water project which when completed will end the perennial water problems in the town.

The Communications Minister also complained about a similar ordeal a chief in the Volta region is going through for endorsing President Mahama. Dr. Omane Boamah said in spite of the machinations, the projects of the government will be visible for all to see.
