Sex Worker, Student Rob Businessman

Two persons, including a woman, have been nabbed by the Police for allegedly robbing a businessman of his valuables at Dome market area in Accra.

They are Ruth Oppong, 20, a commercial sex worker and Victor Kwabla Togbe, 24, a student of the Ideal Remedial College.

Their accomplice, yet to be identified is on the run and being sought for by the police.

The Supervising Officer of the Mile ‘7’ District Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Edward Tetteh, confirmed the incident to the Ghanaian Times, stating that the two are in the custody of the Police assisting in investigations.

He said at 11pm on April 29, the victim, Samuel Amanor, the complainant in the case, was coming from Dome to Saint John area when he was attacked by Togbe and the other accomplice with a knife and a gun.

DSP Tetteh said the two sunjected him to beatings and took his computer laptop, Samsung Galaxy Phone, GH₵60 and a Macbook computer worth GH₵6,000 and bolted.

DSP Tetteh said after the robbery, the victim met members of the patrol team and narrate this ordeal to them.

He said whiles narrating story to the police Amanor spotted Ruth holding his bag, which contained his items he (Amanor) was robbed of and the police arrested her.

“A search of the bag by the police revealed the laptop,” The Police Commander said, adding that the victim later spotted Togbe, who was wielding the knife during the robbery and he was arrested.
