Photos: Wontumi Celebrates Delta �Soldiers� For Preventing NDC From Registering Minors

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako has congratulated his gallant soldiers for assisting him in monitoring and preventing minors and foreigners from registering their names in the just ended limited registration exercise.

Figures released by the Electoral Commission shows that the Ashanti, Greater Accra, and the Northern regions recorded the highest number of registrants during the just ended Limited Voter Registration exercise that took place across the country within a 10-day period

84,057 people registered in the Ashanti Region during the first phase of the exercise and the second phase, 102,838 registered.

In all, 186,895 registered in the region and out of this, 5,084 were challenged.

The magnitude of the registration exercise in the Ashanti Region called for proper surveillance and to do this, Mr. Antwi Boasiko, explained to Peacefmonline.com that his party stationed able men from the Delta Forces at polling centers the National Democratic Congress had wanted to register minors and foreigners.

We couldn’t achieve what we did if we had left the Delta Forces out. They are great men who have helped the party in this region. Ashanti Region is dear to us and in fact it is the heart of the NPP and we would never allow any fraudulent act to happen here”, he said to Peacefmonline.com.
