A young man said to be having a brawl with his biological brother, is being hunted by the police in Kumasi for reportedly cutting off the hand of 29-year-old Mubarak Umar with a cutlass.
Abubakar Sadiq has been listed by the police at the Zongo Divisional Command in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, as one of the region’s most wanted men.
A police source told DAILY GUIDE that Mubarak Umar had his left hand chopped off on May 15, 2016 at about 8:30 pm at Sawaba, a suburb of Kumasi, by Sadiq over a disagreement at their residence.
The victim was said to be on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, while the police authorities were on the heels of the fugitive, who is believed to be hiding in the region.
According to the source, it appears to the law enforcers that the suspect had the intention to kill the victim, rather than the attack being a spontaneous action, as Sadiq allegedly targeted the victim’s head but missed it.
