Subin MP Eyes NPP Prez. Slot

As the main opposition party � the New Patriotic Party (NPP) politically strategies to recapture power in 2012, one of its leading members has openly declared his intention to contest the party�s Presidential slot. The Member of Parliament (MP) for Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Isaac Osei, who made this disclosure last weekend in an interview with Bolga-based Radio A1, becomes the first person to express interest in the NPP Presidential race. Aside him, it has been speculated lately in the media and political circles that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the party�s 2008 Presidential candidate, Mr Alan Kyeremanteng, former NPP President aspirant, Major Courage Quashigah, former Minister of Helath in the Kufuor-led administration, are putting their resources together to vie for the same position. Hon Osei declared he intends vying for the slot of the NPP �to lead my party to victory in the 2012 general election,� stressing that he is determined to win the Presidential slot of the party because he has the track record of an achiever which he wants to use to assist the party and the country. The NPP MP for Subin maintained that his priority now is to assist the party build solid structures and work for the unity of the party but he would file his nomination anytime nominations are opened. Hon Osei, who served as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Chief Executive Office of Cocobod, said �I am not only out to contest for the Presidency but to also build strategies for the party�s victory in 2012.�
