Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said his flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not into politics to enrich himself as being claimed by his political opponents.

According to him, the NPP leader is keen to salvage Ghanaians from the hardship the Mahama-led administration has left on them rather than larceny.

“Nana Addo is not someone who want the presidency because of money. He is one of the most honest and a man of integrity. He is very focused on delivering his mission. Nana Akufo-Addo is not into politics because of his stomach. Everybody knows he is incorruptible,” Dr. Bawumia stated.

Speaking in an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia expressed delight to have been a pardner to Nana Addo who he assured to be a president in the schedule November presidential polls.

“I am very glad to partner him and we really mean what we say to transform this economy. We want to relieve Ghanaians from the hardship. Teachers, nurses, fishermen, farmers, drivers among others are suffering and we will respond to their call,” he said. 

According to him “We want to bring in a transformative agenda to make Ghana the most business friendly and the most people friendly economy in Africa. We really mean it and we are asking for the support of the electorates to bring this change that we need so badly in Ghana.”
