As the countdown begins for the November 7 general elections, one of the many places that would witness a very keen contest would be the Ahafo Ano North Constituency in the Ashanti Region, where an Independent Candidate, Bright Oppong, is wrecking of havoc to scuttle the aspirations of both New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of winning and retaining the parliamentary seat respectively.
The Medical Doctor, who is currently stationed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi, told this reporter in an interview that the people in the area who have benefited one way or the other from his humanitarian services are ready to vote for him and not any other candidate.
Tepa-based Bright Oppong, who has many travel experiences to his credit indicated that the area has suffered under the NDC and the NPP far too long, and that he is the only person who can redeem the area from the claws of underdevelopment and raise it to a modern status.
“I have achieved a lot for my people and they have confident in me that am capable of elevating the area from its current poor state when I become an MP” he disclosed.
The aspiring MP also hinted that some executives of the NPP and NDC are currently throwing their weight behind him because they have lost interest in their parliamentary candidates and also know what he is capable of doing when voted for as an MP.
The Medical Doctor also revealed that Chiefs in the area are also behind him and have all pledged their support for him ahead of the elections.
The Independent Candidate, who already has the construction of about (15) boreholes for some communities in the constituency to his credit also promised to continue with his kind gesture when voted for to represent the area in the parliament.
