Women MPs Boycott Demo Against Kennedy Agyepong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) women in Parliament, Tuesday, boycotted a women’s group from the Central Region who stormed the Legislature to petition the women MPs to prevail on the Speaker and the House to sanction Kennedy Agyepong.

They claim the Assin Central MP’s characterization of the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Charlotte Osei, was uncalled for and must be brought to book. The group of women wielding placards came in buses to parliament to show support to Madam Charlotte Osei and demanded action from Parliament.

Though some minority lawmakers initially joined the women’s caucus they soon disappeared leaving the majority side alone to face the concerned women’s group led by Ekua Swanzy.

The petition was received by the deputy Majority Whip, Hajia Mary Boforo on behalf of the Women Caucus.
