IBF bantamweight champion, Joseph Agbeko, is set for a title defence against undefeated Yohnny Perez in the United States on October 31 It will be Agbeko�s third defence of the title he won in September 2007 when he beat Luis Alberto Perez of Nicaragua. The fight at the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino will be a co-main event of the lightweight contest between Antonio DeMarco of Mexico of Nicaragua, a fight being staged as an eliminator to the WBC title. Agbeko, 27-1(22Kos), last defended the title in July this year when he scored a unanimous points victory over four time world champion Vic Darchinyan of Armenia. Perez, 19-0 (14Kos), earned the shot at the title after stopping Silence Mabuza in the 12th round in May this year. Meanwhile, Agbeko has begun serious training in the United States for the fight since returning to the US some two weeks ago.
