AMA Supports 3 Polyclinics

The Accra Metropolitan Chief Executive, Dr Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije has donated four new generators worth GH¢18,3855 each to 3 polyclinics within the metropolis to boost constant supply of power.

The beneficiary clinics include Adabraka Polyclinic, Ussher Polyclinic and the Kaneshie Polyclinic

Dr. Vanderpuije stated that, the generators would support the hospital’s  day to day activities giving the clinic a 24-hour uninterrupted service
He advised the management of the polyclinics to be watchful of persons who steal generator batteries which may render the generator useless.

He also appealed to the management to ensure proper maintenance and constant supervision
The Accra mayor who is also the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Ablekuma South in the Greater Accra region commended the management for the maintenance of the toilet facilities as well as the cholera Bay provided by the Assembly.

He was of the hope that such proper caretaking would be replicated in the recent presentations.

Dr Yaw Aduse-Poku, Head of Adabraka Polyclinic lauded the efforts of the Assembly through the mayor and assured him of a good maintenance of the generator, adding that the generator came at the appropriate time.
Madam Magarrete Akuamoah, the administrator of the Ussher Polyclinic also thanked the mayor and stated that the generator would help them render a quick service to the general public.

She however pleaded with the Assembly to provide the clinic with an ambulance that would serve as an emergency to the clinic at all times

At the Kaneshie Polyclinic, Dr Patrick Amo-Mensah, medical doctor applauded the MCE for the streets naming within the metropolis which has helped in geographical location.

He further took the opportunity to recount some challenges facing the clinic which included an abandoned building that began construction in 2004 to serve as a multi-purpose complex for the clinic.

He stated that the complex would have an Eye clinic, labour wards, dental units, theatre for surgical operations as well as consulting room. "If we are able to finish this building, we have to cater for a lot of people hence reduce pressure from our various hospitals like Ridge hospital, 37, and Korle Bu hospital.”
