EC Re-registers Over 14,000 NHIS Voters

The Electoral Commission has re-registered 14,801 people out of the 56,000 it recently deleted from the voters’ register for registering with National Health Insurance Scheme cards.
 
With two more days left for the re-registration exercise to end, the commission has beckoned people’s whose names have been deleted to register else they would be disenfranchised.

According to Head of Communications at the EC, Mr Eric Kofi Dzakpasu, the situation was the situation was not encouraging because most of these people needed to register to enable them cast their vote in the December 7 elections.

Mr Dzakpasu noted that the commission had increased publicity to enable people whose names were deleted to re-register.

He therefore charged the media, to use its platform to educate the people on the need to re-register.
