Economic Performance Of Mahama's Government Worst In Nation's History - Minority

The Minority in Parliament has described the economic performance of the NDC government over the past eight years as the worst in the history of the country.

They made the assertion at a press conference today on the Supplementary Budget presented by the Finance Minister, Seth Terkper to Parliament on Monday.

Speaking on behalf of the Minority, the MP for Old Tafo and Minority Ranking Member on Finance, Hon Dr Anthony Akoto Osei said under the NDC government the country has witnessed high unemployment, decline in economic growth, collapse of industry and agriculture, massive accumulation of debt, high cost of living and high electricity and water tariffs.

The minority added that the economy under the NDC government is also characterized by high taxes and high interest rate coupled with massive depreciation of the Cedi, corruption and five years of unstable supply of electricity ( dumsor).

The minority said the government of President Mahama has failed the nation and the supplementary budget in which government is requesting for Ghc1.8 billion cannot save the country.
