Power Crisis Never Ends

The Power Crisis in Ghana, Light on, Light off, (Dumsor, Dumsor) started massively in 2012 with massive promises by President John Dramani Mahama on a regular basis to solve it finally giving Ghanaians reassurance this will be an issue of the past within a short while.

Ghanaians hear a second Power Ship from Turkey is coming. They get to know the interest of Ghana to have its own Atomic Power Plant. Citizens of Ghana read about Nigeria Gas and the shutdown of the West African Pipeline due to the fact that Ghana owns Nigeria Millions of Dollars for delivering the Gas to run the Gas Power Plants in Ghana. VRA and ECG are heavily indebted.

When Ghanaians of the political and economic elite go abroad to pursue their education in UK, USA, Russia, China and elsewhere seeing the way the White Man solves his problems, once they are back in Africa the same people repeat blindly and ignorantly the mistakes of their Fathers and Grandfathers so much visible in the open Gutter system in this country. They just do not learn!

It has become obvious to all observers with open eyes and sharp mind for the future that Ghana with its increased demand for Power can somehow find Funds from around the world to pay for the investment costs of Power Plants but will consistently fail to pay for the high running cost of these Facilities, for Gas and Oil.

Wisdom comes is when a Nation learns from mistakes and improves on the mistakes other countries made before. Therefore it is a matter of knowledge and wisdom improvement to use renewable Energy only (Wind, Sun, Bio-Gas from various sources, Ocean Tides Turbines, Underground Heat, medium and small Hydro Plants etc.) as their running cost are very low (Maintenance) besides the fact that the land needed for most of these technologies is limited.

A Black American High-Tech Millionaire with roots in Ghana wants to bring in Hybrid Sugar Cain to produce Ethanol as a source of Fuel to reduce the cost for Ghanaians and improve their lives. Such plantations are taking too much precious fertile land mass away that needs to be set aside and farmed on for the growing numbers of Ghanaians.

The future for Academics and young people is not in Industrialization, the old style of trying to make money, but in Farming and Human Intelligence. Besides the Service Sector they will absorb the majority of people that are in the working years of their life. Climate change will limit the space, even in Ghana, where Foods products can be grown not only for home consumption but for much needed Export revenues.

The Power Crisis in Africa is a very good reflection of the Crisis in the Minds of African Politicians and certain Business People. The Bible is teaching us “As a Man is thinking in his heart, so he is”.

The Minister for Trade and Industry of Ghana has no problems at the recent China-Ghana Summit in Accra to proudly say into the Cameras of the Media Houses attending that Ghana in West Africa has the highest Mega Watts production, even in Nigeria only 3000 Mega Watts are available for 180 Mio.

people making Ghana stand out. It is an exposure of a short minded Politician to make such statements as to compare a sinking ship with another faster sinking ship is nothing to be proud of.

A Country must be judged by its potentials and how it manages its GOD given recourses for the benefit of ALL in a country. Countries with limited or no resources besides their Brain are forced to come up with solutions that are for a long run a good solution for their citizens and beyond like it is the case in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark and others.

It is not surprising that Blacks are not competing in Race Car completions such as Indi 500, Formula 1, Le Mans and others as mastering these High Tech cars at a speed above 300 km/h requires thinking until the finish line in complex environment.

Blacks can move a car from A to B, but driving is not their second nature. In Germany I myself drive 200 km/h on German Autobahn having never seen a Black Man/Woman doing the same. Blacks are excellent in short distances or simple sports like Tennis, Golf, Football, Rugby, Marathon, Basketball and alike while Swimming abilities are not part of their agenda.

It all comes down to the right mindset to be successful in life, and it is only the responsibility of the Individual to ensure, he/she has it and constantly improves on it. Ghana: what are you good at besides problems making?
