Its A Crazy Amount Of Money Jon Benjamin On Pogba Transfer

British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency Jon Benjamin has questioned Paul Pogba’s transfer money from Juventus to Manchester United.

Jon Benjamin a die-hard West Ham fan in an nterview with Kasapa Sports said the French international is not worth £89M.

It sounds like a crazy amount of money and of course one of the reasons there is so much money is because there is new deal. A new three year Tv deal for covering the Premier League and they have injected a lot more money into the big clubs so there have a lot more to spend. Personally this is no reflection on Paul Pogba because I think he is a terrific player but I question if there is anyone else worth nearly a £100M. I guess that it is an economic and commercial question and maybe they think the addition of a player like Paul Pogba just generate more income, more shirt sales, more interest around the world and more commercial back in, I guess but it does sound like an extraordinary amount of money and we will see whether he is worth it.
Despite laying a serious claim to being the biggest club on the planet, Manchester United had never broken the world’s transfer record for a footballer. They had broken the British record 12 times, most recently with Angel Di Maria’s £59.7 million signing from Real Madrid in 2014, but never the global mark until Paul Pogba joined.

The Frenchman’s €105 million (£89m) signing beats that of Gareth Bale to Madrid two years ago by over €4m and means United join a select group of clubs, some far more illustrious than others. The same can be said about the men who, over the years, have been the planet’s most expensive players, though more were a success than not.

For United, signing Pogba for such a huge fee is a huge statement and one that executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been keen to make since becoming the club’s executive vice-president in 2013.
