It Was Not Done For Votes...The Farm Is Mine - Karbo

,
Anthony Karbo was seen seriously weeding at a farm believed to be in his constituency.

Karbo is also the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Lawra Constituency of the Upper West Region and is intimately related to the chief of the area.

He took to his facebook page and wrote: “Farm time….this is who we are..#peasantfarming!”

His opponents have taken to facebook to mock him, saying he is working on people’s farmland for votes.

But Mr Karbo said the farm is his and that he has been farming since 2012.

According to him, he cultivates groundnut, maize and rears some livestock.

“I have been a farmer for the past years and that is what my opponents are not aware of . It is what I love to do and so I am not perturbed that the NDC is talking about me,” he asserted.

He indicated that he does not benefit directly from the proceeds of his farm because he distributes it to widows, the aged and the poor in his community who do not have the capacity to go out and till the lands.

“I farm to feed Ghanaians and the poor and it is not something I directly benefit from. Those who think that it is being done for election purposes or for votes can continue to mock and laugh but I am not doing it for votes,” he added.
