Photos: Nana Addo's Rousing Welcome To Bawku Is A Worry NDC Man Warns

The Bawku Municipality came to a standstill when hundreds of party supporters mostly youth in their party paraphernalia took to the principal streets of the town on Monday 29th August, to welcome the flagbearer of the opposition NPP Nana Addo and his entourage into the Bawku central constituency as part of his campaign  tour to the Upper East Region.

Alhaji Dori who contested Hon. Ayariga in the last year parliamentary elections has raised serious concerns over the rousing welcome granted the leader of the opposition NPP saying the body language and demeanor of the youth which saw some NDC members joining the crowd is clearly that of dissatisfaction with happenings in the Bawku central NDC.

According to him, this is a wakeup call for the ruling NDC to work tirelessly to maintain the seat which is being occupied by Hon. Mahama Ayariga and to win the presidential elections for the John Mahama.

The constituency's parliamentary and presidential elections has always swung to favour either the NDC and NPP since 1992 as no Member of Parliament has ever successfully won the seat consecutively in the history of this constituency.

In an interview with Alhaji Dori,  a leading member of NDC, he noted that “I deem it a duty not to sit and look at the high apathy and dissatisfaction that is seeping through the core membership of our party in the constituency.”
