Graduates from the various tertiary institutions who are still out of job have appealed to the Electoral Commission (EC) to engage them in the upcoming December 7 polls.
The unemployed graduates want the electoral management body to recruit them for the collation of results at the Constituency Collation Centers on December 7, 2016.
They believe their request if granted will ensure fair and transparent election.
Presidents of the Unemployed Graduates Association of Ghana (UGAG) and the Unemployed Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) in a joint statement released in Accra on Monday and signed by the two leaders said “our call is legitimate considering the fact that our members are professionals who have graduated from the university or polytechnic and Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Director of Elections, National Democratic Congress (NDC) decision to petition the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) against the Electoral Commission employing the services of members of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG) to collate the results at the constituency collation centers”.
The two bodies share the belief that the avenue created by the EC is an opportunity to serve Ghana “at this crucial moment while wait patiently for a job”.
“It will also be opportunity to serve our dear country at this crucial moment while we wait patiently for a job. It will also be an opportunity for us to earn something to cater for ourselves and also start a small business if possible.
