Nana Dashes To Kumasi

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was accorded a rousing welcome to Kumasi on Monday.

The NPP leader, who had finished his successful campaign tour of the three northern regions, was in Kumasi for a crunch party meeting.

The foundation of Georgia Hotel, venue of the strategic meeting, was nearly turned into a rally ground when Nana Akufo-Addo got there.

Elated-looking NPP supporters were seen chanting Nana’s name in a loud tone and the NPP flag bearer responded with a wave of the hand.

Some of the party supporters, especially the women, stopped Nana Addo as he was about to enter the conference room, just to shake hands with him.

The crunch party meeting was held behind closed doors because according to sources, strategic plans for the upcoming elections were discussed.

NPP Acting National Chairman, Freddie Blay; Campaign Manager, Mac Manu; Dan Botwe and other party gurus were present at the meeting.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman and other regional executives of the party were also there.

Constituency chairmen and other party officials from both the region and the constituencies also participated in the historic meeting.

Some of the party gurus who spoke with this paper indicated that the meeting was successful as effective strategies to win the December polls were hatched.
