The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna, who doubles as the Northern Regional Coordinator of the party’s campaign for the upcoming general elections, has appealed to members of his party, who have issues with him to learn to forgive and forget.
His appointment as the party’s regional campaign coordinator did not go down well with some party members and supporters of the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Haruna Iddrisu, who was described by Alban Bagbin, the Majority Leader over the weekend as a fine presidential material.
“United we stand, divided we fall and so if we are united and prepared to forgive each other as human institutions differences will come up but let’s learn to forgive and forget,” he added.
The Northern Regional Campaign coordinator of the NDC said, “So I can tell you that there is no problem with the campaign team, we are together and we will overcome them.”
He made this known at Damongo during the inauguration of the campaign team by Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur.
Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna indicated that two committees have been constituted- Finance and Mobilization, as well as Political and Strategize Committee which are headed by himself and Haruna Iddrisu respectively.
“When it comes to politics you can’t take it from Haruna because God has given it to him so he will be there to strategize and we will also go round to mobilize resources to support all of you.”
According to him, unity would lead the NDC to victory and assured members of the ruling party that come December 7 he would hand over the 31 constituencies to the party.
“In the 2008 elections, the NDC got over 460,000 votes, in 2012 over 570,000 votes and I assure the vice president that in 2016 the votes will double,” he declared.
Some of the party’s members at the Northern Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) felt that Haruna Iddrisu was the right man for the position, but the appointing authorities selected Alhaji Mohammed-Muniru Limuna, a Gonja who is the right hand man of President John Mahama.
