PPP Believes In Inclusive Government - Brigitte

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Ms Brigitte Dzogbenuku, has assured the electorate that when the party would involve the best brains in managing the country’s resources irrespective of party affiliation.

She said the PPP Government would not discriminate against any region or group of persons in terms of the distribution of national resources, but would make sure every region gets its fair share of developmental projects, to ensure holistic development of the country.

Ms Dzogbenuku, who is a former Miss Ghana, said this when she visited the Sekondi constituency, to rally support for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom.

She said the PPP is the only party in the country that has nominated a woman as a running mate in this year’s elections, and shows the trust and confidence the party has in women.

Ms Dzogbenuku indicated that  majority of the country’s population are women and, therefore, asked them to throw their support behind Dr Nduom, who believes in women empowerment.

She said the PPP seeks to liberate Ghanaians from economic hardships, youth unemployment, unending power crisis, deplorable road network, high inflation rate and many other socio-economic challenges in the country.

The Vice Presidential Candidate explained the colours of the party comprising white, which means purity therefore, it would avoid any form of corruption and misappropriation of the country’s resources while the red sun signifies hope and urgency to develop the nation.

She observed that the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party had governed the country but failed to fulfill the aspirations of Ghanaians, and said it’s time to change them and try a new party.

She said that Dr Nduom, who is an Economist, had a proven track record, evidenced in the many companies that he had established across the country and employed more than 21,000 Ghanaians.

“He is more than capable to steer the country to economic prosperity,” she said.

Ms Dzogbenuku, enjoyed massive support in the constituencies she visited during the three-day tour of the Region.

She visited Wassa East, Mpohor, Kwesimintsim, Takoradi, Sekondi and some constituencies in the northern parts of the Western Region, to canvass for votes for the party.

She met and interacted with the party’s polling station executives and encouraged them to be vigilant during the December 7 polls.

She also visited some radio stations and explained the party’s policy statement and asked the electorate to rally behind the party in order to deliver the country from economic doldrums.

Mr Daniel Essuman, the Parliamentary Candidate of the PPP in Sekondi, assured the electorate that the party would provide quality educational infrastructure in order to enhance teaching and learning for all children-of-school-going age.

Mr Essuman said if the party is given the nod in the December 7 polls, it would actualise the compulsory free basic education policy, unlike the failed promises of the ruling NDC.

He added that women traders would be supported to set up their own businesses to enhance their standards of living.
