NPP Karaga Parliamentary Re-Run: Three File To Contest

Barely three months to the December polls, the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) is compelled to conduct  parliamentary primary again in the Karaga constituency in the Northern region following a resignation of the party’s nominee recently.

Ibrahim Shaharawi Bashiru has stepped down on health grounds. He’s intending to undergo intensive treatment after surviving an accident last year.

At least three persons have picked nominations to contest the upcoming parliamentary re-run.

They are a former District Chief Executive for Karaga, Baba Wahabu, Sulemana Iddrisu and Fredaus Basha.

About four hundred delegates are expected to vote to replace the next successor of Shaharawi.

The contest is scheduled to take place in Savelugu for security reasons, according to the NPP Chairman of the Northern region,  Bugri Naabu.

The re-run is scheduled to come off this weekend.
