Hundreds Defy Rain To Meet Nduom

Hundreds of supporters defied the heavy downpour of rain to meet and interact with the Flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom at the Madina Market.

The supporters which included taxi drivers, market women, traders and random people who had just come to the market to shop, all abandoned their ‘core mission’ and caused severe human traffic as they all gathered together to have a personal interaction with the PPP Flagbearer. Not even the heavy downpour of rains could deter them.

Dr. Nduom was in the company of his running mate, Ms. Brigitte Dzogbenuku and other executives of the party including the 2nd Vice Chairperson of PPP, Berlinda Bulley, the Executive Director of PPP, Richard Nii Armah and Policy Advisor of PPP, Kofi Asamoah Siaw.

Nduom to ban importation of rice

Addressing the people, Dr. Nduom announced that a PPP led government will ban importation of rice into the country.

According to him Ghana has vast arable lands which are suitable for rice cultivation more than the numerous countries Ghana import rice from.

Dr Nduom emphasized that a PPP led administration will ensure that our local farmers are empowered to improve upon their yields through mechanisations and financial support.

"I have travelled extensively across the length and breadth of the country and I know what our farmers especially rice growers go through just to get their produce milled" he lamented.

Dr Nduom indicated that he was not in politics to enrich himself but he is offering himself to change the dwindling fortunes of Ghana.

To battress his point further, Dr. Nduom indicated that all his hotels – the Coconut Groove Hotels in Accra, Elmina and Obuasi all serve only local rice.

"The PPP is here to ask for your vote to ensure that our farmers, business men and women has state support expand their business, farms to create jobs for our teaming unemployed youth”

Dr. Nduom then used the opportunity to introduce the PPP Parliamentary Candidate for the Madina Constituency, Rev. James Reynolds Boadi Baafi to the constituents.

From the Madina Market, the PPP Campaign train moved to the Weija constituency, specifically the SCC Junction.

The Vice Presidential Candidate for the PPP, Ms. Brigitte Dzogbenuku  addressing the enthusiastic crowd appealed to the people to think about Ghana first.

‘We shouldn’t think of what we can or what we would today but think of the future of our children’ she stressed.

She added that ‘the PPP is here today to appeal to you to vote massively for a Dr. Nduom led administration for the betterment of our children’ she reiterated.

Taking his turn, the PPP Flagbearer, Dr. Nduom formally introduced the people to the PPP Candidate for the Weija – Gbawe constituency, Jessica Manuel a.ka. ‘Adjoa Ghana.’

From Weija, the final destination for the PPP Campaign train was the Trobu Constituecny where Dr. Nduom and his running mate took turns to address the huge supporters that were gathered there.
