NPP Sacks Teshie Independent Candidate

THE OPPOSITION New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed one of its former parliamentary aspirants from the party with immediate effect. He was said to have gone independent after losing his parliamentary bid on the ticket of the party.

Stephen Quaye, who lost the NPP parliamentary primary at Ledzokuku Constituency in Accra to Dr. Okoe Boye on June 13, 2015, was according to a press statement, dismissed on grounds of gross misconduct.

The statement, signed by the Ledzokuku Constituency Secretary of the NPP, Wisdom Donkor, indicated, “His dismissal comes on the backdrop of him falsely portraying himself as NPP parliamentary candidate for the constituency after he lost the primary on 13th June, 2015.”

According to the statement, “Further to numerous persuasions to urge him not to continue in such misconduct behaviour from the constituency level to national, he had been persistent.”

“His conduct,” the statement pointed out, “is inimical to the progress of the party in the constituency hence our final decision to dismiss him.”
