Teach Children Good Sanitation Practices

Heads of pre-schools and basic schools have been implored to encourage pupils observe good sanitation practices at school and home.

Mr Frank Aboagye, Head of Fabovill Inc. USA, who gave the advice said when children appreciated the benefits of good sanitation practices, they could influence the elderly to change some old hahits that were causing havoc to society.

Mr Aboagye gave the advice when he and his family presented 25 dustbins to the Tema Ridge School.

He reminded stakeholders in education to urge children to start observing good sanitation practices such as putting refuse into the dustbin rather than littering the school compound.

He said by doing so, the children who he described as agents of change would carry the message home and the sanitation situation in the country would gradually change for the better.

Mr Aboagye noted that the presentation of sanitation items would be extended to other schools in the country.

Miss Keziah Odamtten, a student of the Tema Ridge School, who lead the foundation to do the presentation, said she befriended the Aboagye family in 2012 when she visited the USA.

Miss Odamtten added that upon several deliberations, she convinced them to help her improve sanitation in her school hence the presentation.

Mr Jonas Amoako Addy, Academic Head (JHS Department) of Tema Ridge School, thanked the group for the gesture and promised to use them for the intended purpose.
