PNC Parliamentary Candidate Upbeat About Victory In December 7

The People's National Convention, PNC parliamentary candidate for the Talensi Constituency, Dr. Michael Namalteng Wombeogo, says he is optimistic of winning the December 7 parliamentary election by a landslide.

He indicates his optimism of snatching the seat from the National Democratic Congress, NDC Benson Tongo Baba is born out of his consistent dedicated services rendered to the people of Talensi for the past years.

Coupled with that, according to him, is his good-natured attitude and unwavering contributions towards advancing the interests of the constituency, particularly human resource development.

Dr. Wombeogo made this known to journalists in Tongo of the Upper East Region after he filed his nomination form at the Talensi District Electoral Commission, EC office to contest the forthcoming 2016 general elections.

Dr. Wombeogo who placed third in the 2015 by-election in the Talensi Constituency after finishing well behind the New Patriotic Party, NPP parliamentary candidate, Thomas Duanab and Mr. Baba of the NDC in a hotly contested race, has said he is working strategically to annex the seat for dormant PNC because of his immense contributions to the development of the constituency in virtually all sectors of the economy.

"It's very important for us to put on record that it is not me, but it is the people, who are giving me the confidence, the encouragement and the audacity to stand on the ticket of the PNC to become their MP. I hope come December 7, they will send me to parliament", Dr. Wombeogo said.

Outlining his policy initiatives, the University for Development Studies, UDS lecturer, who is famous in sponsoring students from the Talensi District to pursue higher education, pledged to bring total development to the constituents by investing heavily in human resource development to enable the youth secure a good future.

He added he would make illegal mining unattractive to pave way for young men and women to take education seriously and called on the electorate to give him and his presidential candidate, Edward Nasigri Mahama 'a not inconsiderable' endorsement at this year's presidential and parliamentary race.

In a related development, the Member of Parliament, MP for Talensi, Mr. Baba, who is seeking a re-election on the ticket of the NDC in the December 7 polls, said he had rolled out some interventions that impacted the downtrodden, hence the need for the electorate to renew his mandate to continue massing up development projects for the constituency.
