PPP Wins Peace Trophy

Progressive People’s Party have emerged as champions of the National Peace Football Gala organized by Real Plan Foundation for political parties.

The PPP progressed from the preliminary stage of the competition by way of technical knockout (due to failure of the opponent - NDP to turn up) to beat tournament favourites NDC 1 – 0 in fiercely semi - final match to face CPP in the grand finale. The final match ended in a goalless, and PPP beat CPP 4 – 3 on penalties to win the trophy.

Speaking after the presentation of the trophy, captain of the PPP, Patrick Armah, thanked God Almighty for helping them win the trophy and congratulated his team mates and coach for their relentless effort. He said, the PPP’s victory will be replicated in the December 7 elections.

Chairman of the PPP, Nii Allotey Brew Hammond congratulated the team and advised the youth to be ambassadors and entreated Ghanaians to avoid any conduct that will be detrimental to Ghana’s peace.

General Secretary of the Party, Murtala Mohammed called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the PPP in the December 7 elections.

The competition which was under the theme “PEACE AND TRANQUILITY” was contested by Seven political parties namely PPP, NPP, NDC, CPP, GFP, APC, and PNC had spectators glued to their seat for the entire duration of the games. Supporters of the political parties chanted party slogans and waved party flags amid clapping and dancing.
