Ghanaians Complain About Treatment At Botswana Consulate

Information reaching this paper from the Botswana Consulate in Accra reveals two of the staff, Thomas Okyere and Rita Boateng are making the place a living hell for potential travelers to the southern African country.

Ghanaians who went to the place for one business or the other, especially those seeking visas to travel to Botswana told this paper that the two have made it their business to frustrate potential travelers until they give up on the travel.

“When you get there they ask you to go and bring documents you already submitted to them under the excuse that they were missing, can you imagine? A whole consulate like Botswana can’t keep our document safe such that we have to be going back and forth on a simple document”, a female, Rita Yeboah Baadu told our roving scouts.

Thomas Okyere and Rita Boateng were not readily available to respond to the allegations but the paper gathered that, that has been their stock in trade.

“They are neither granting nor refusing visas, which under normal circumstance should be the case. What they do is to frustrate you with unnecessary barrage of questions and ask you to bring this, bring that, so that eventually you do not go there again”, another man who suffered a similar fate in the hands to the two alleged.

This paper is privy to a chat in which Thomas Okyere for instance, was asking for document which we later found out had already been submitted to the consulate.

As at the time of filing this story there had not been any official response from the consulate on why the two staff have made it their business to only frustrate potential travelers.

Stay tuned.
