JCE Observe World Teachers� Day

Ghana has  joined the rest of the world to observe this year's World Teachers' Day on October 5.

Speaking to the media on the celebration, the Principal of Jackson College of Education, Mrs Theodosia Jackson who is also an astute educationist maintained that teachers are essential to the universal and quality education for all; they are central to shaping the minds and attitudes of the unborn generation to deal with new global challenges and opportunities.

Mrs Jackson said that, teachers  need the skills, knowledge and support that will enable them to meet the diverse learning needs of every child.

According to her, teachers are investment for the future. This she said is the rationale behind the College's training of  manpower in the educational sector of Ghana.

The Principal added that quality education thrives on competent teachers; hence the resolve of the college to carefully train its students to be well endowed to better train pupils in the  basic schools.

Mrs Jackson further stated that the quality of education is undermined by inadequate teachers especially, at the schools in the hinterland. She promised to continue the training of excellent teachers who will accept posting to rural communities.
