Director of Education Blames Parents For Low Performance of Wards

The District Director of Education in the North Dayi District of the Volta Region, Madam Benedicta Abla Akatse has blamed parents for contributing to the low performance of children in the district.

The Director said, instead of parents helping their wards of homes works, they rather engage them discussing all TV programs in this world, thereby shifting their attention.

Again, parents are more interested in engaging children in economic activities and others than schooling.

This became known when Edami foundation launched a reading club in schools in Anfoega Wademaxe JHS, Anfoega Dzana JHS, Gblenkor JHS, Akukome Azigbe EP jhs and Saint Peter and Paul JHS.

The program expected to engage children to read and uplift the falling standard of education of each school modelling with 15 pupils.

They are also expected to monitor children by their selected role models from different professional backgrounds to achieve more for themselves and their communities.

The Founder & CEO of Edami Foundation, Mr Ankude Mawuli Edami, encouraged the children to take advantage of the opportunity to be better people in the area.

He said the best way a person can live better was to share the little society and elders have helped them to achieve, therefore, they take delight in making their communities especially the future leaders leaders indeed.

He added that gradually the program will cover as many deprived schools and communities as possible.

Mr Mawuli Edami says education was key for every society which wants to grow with better and skilled human resource

Some pupils who have been part of the program told Peace Fm Online that it has helped them and continue to help but asking other NGOs to support Edami Foundation to do more for them in areas of computers, books and library.

The DCE, of North Dayi, Hon Temenka and the NDC Parliamentary Candidate gor the area, Jocelyn Tetteh.lauded Edami Foundation for its good work and continue to do more for mother Ghana.
