Two Foremost Chiefs Of Kpando 'Smoke Peace Pipe' After 30 Years Feud (VIDEO)

Togbui Adzo Lokko VII and Togbui Afendze III, two of the foremost Chiefs of the Akpini State, whose disagreements spanning over three decades have stalled development in the area have finally 'smoked the peace pipe'.

At a durbar to climax the reunion, the two in a joint statement praised each other for seeing reason in coming together to forge ahead as they pledge to tackling the numerous developmental challenges of the in the area.

" . . our relationship has been affected by events and issues over which we have had divergent views which made it impossible for us to corporate and chart the right path for the Akini State for a considerable length of time now leading to the state of affairs where the rightful people or chiefs are not in charge of affairs of Kpando.

"And thus nothing seems to be moving in the right direction, we have recognized the need to bury our differences in the Supreme interest of our people and the Kpando Kpekpe Etor".

The Akini State has not been at peace with itself for almost thirty years due to the feud between the two most prominent Chiefs of the area.

This has affected the smooth running of the wheels of the traditional governance mechanism leading to several self-inflicted wounds and this according to the two Chiefs, "the ceremony we are here to witness is one such balm we are placing on this festering wound".

In the full glare of their subjects, both Chiefs signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and calling on the black stool on which they both sit and worship as an invisible witness as well as the deities of Blabu, Fesi (Afendza Stool in Anyigbe), Abo Dayi, Dzgbesianti (which is at the seat of the Adza Lokko Stool in Gbordome), Togbui Agame, Dzigbe (which is at the seat of the Asumadu Stool in Atsiafume).
