Presidential boxes at stadiums closed down

The National Sports Council (NSC) has announced the closure of Presidential Boxes at the various sports stadiums in the country. The move, a directive from the State Protocol is aimed at reviewing the seating arrangements at the Presidential Boxes. The boxes are exclusive areas reserved at the stadiums for certain categories of personalities and institutions during matches. Hamah Hamid Issakah, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the NSC said the Presidential areas are strictly under the supervision of State Protocol. "The State Protocol is currently in the process of reviewing the list of persons and institutions eligible to use the Presidential boxes". Mr Issakah said the Council has submitted a list of persons and institutions to be considered in the final list which includes various stakeholders. "The final list will include members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Premier League Board (PLB), Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) and Chairmen of the various soccer Clubs, particularly those in the Premier League to have access to the Presidential boxes during matches." The PRO has therefore appealed to the GFA and allied bodies to exercise patience and continue to use the VVIP Stand temporary until the release of the final list which is expected very soon.
