Police arrests two Burkinabes in connection with murder

Two Burkinabe farm labourers, at Assin Juaso in the Central Region, have been arrested by the Police in connection with the death of a -50-year- old woman, Mrs. Salamata Yeboah from Subri in the Nzema-East Municipality. The suspects are Bonyea Naabakye, 21 and Soua Sommi, 19. The Municipal Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP) Tesutor Lovelace who disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Axim said on October 3, the husband of the deceased, Mr. Kweku Yeboah, 67, left the house at about 0600 hours to a nearby village, leaving behind his wife and the labourers who were engaged by the couple for four days on their rubber plantation. DSP Lovelace said Mr. Yeboah returned home at about 1030 hours without the wife and the labourers. A search party later found Mrs Yeboah dead and partially naked, in a bush at about 20 metres away from their cottage. Her body has since been deposited at the Axim government hospital morgue for autopsy. The Police mounted a search for the suspects and arrested Naabakye at Mankessim in the Central Region on October 13 and Sommi the next day in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region. He said the two would soon be arraigned.
