Kwesi Nyantakyi Impressed With Stars Performance At AFCON

President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has expressed his contentment at the progression of the Black Stars in the ongoing African Cup of Nations Tournament.

The Ghana football Capo believes the players have been playing according to instructions contrary to the assertions of many football pundits.

The President speaking after Ghana’s win over DR Congo in the quarter-final game on Sunday says the stars are poised to win the trophy to erase the 35 years of trophy drought.

‘’The coaches were very tactical in their approach to the game. They knew that any of them could win so the players just don’t kick the ball anyhow.

“The coaches did well and the players played according to instructions. You don’t go into competition opening up all your arsenals and firing guns all over.

“We start slowly and peaked. We will peak well at the finals.

‘’Ghanaian’s are used to victory. We don’t celebrate second place, when we win silver, is no achievement for us.

“We have won this competition four times. I think we were the first to win it four times before Cameroon and others took over and so anytime we come to the competition, the expectation back home is high so Ghanaians are waiting that we will lift this trophy and erase their feelings and inconvenience they’ve gone through over the past 35 years’’ .

Ghana have already grabbed a ticket to a sixth AFCON semi-finals after beating DR Congo 2-1.
