NPP Will Have To Kill Me Before Taking My Cars Akamba

Joshua Akamba chronicling a similar situation he suffered under the first NPP government in 2001, said “they would have to kill me to take my vehicle this time.”

His lamentations follow the seizure of vehicles from former government officials and NDC executives.
The National Organizer of the opposition NDC is alleged to have benefited from a supposed looting of over 100 government vehicles before his party left office after the 2016 elections.

Mr. Adams’ house was raided by a combined team of military and national security operatives, seizing five vehicles in the process. The vehicles were reportedly returned subsequently on the orders of the Minister for National Security. The party has accused the governing NPP of intimidating and victimizing its members for political expedience.

NPP Challenge Adams

The governing NPP threatened to expose Mr. Adams if he fails to provide ownership documents of the cars.
Government has set up a taskforce to track and retrieve all State assets which are still in the possession of some individuals and ex government officials.

The task force is expected to ensure that all state properties are lawfully reclaimed. The task force includes officials from the Ghana Police Service, Bureau of National Investigations, Customs Division, the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority and the Office of the President. Mr. Akamba told Starr News: “I’m a victim. They stopped me to take my motorbike in the past, but today, if you want to do the same thing, you might have to kill me.”
