You Have Never Sacrificed For Ghana- Asamoah Gyan To Kevin Prince Boateng

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has expressed surprise at suspended compatriot Kevin-Prince Boateng’s post Afcon 2017 comments, calling him a betrayer.

The Las Palmas forward took to twitter to express disappointment and broadly called for changes immediately after lost out on bronze medal against Burkina Faso in the third place play-off of the continental showpiece last Saturday.

But the tweet has left team leader Asamoah Gyan displeased as he tells Angel FM that “he [KP Boateng] has betrayed his own colleagues.”

According to the UAE-based forward, Boateng could be right in his assertions but disagrees with the decision to publicly criticize the team he is part of though currently serving an indefinite suspension.

“He might be right,” Gyan said but “I was expecting someone outside the team to come out with these comments and not Kevin-Prince Boateng” who he later accused of having not sacrificed for the team before.

“Ghana deserves better, fine. We the players know that Ghana deserves better.

“From what I have seen, Kevin-Prince Boateng has never sacrificed for this Ghana national team.

“I leave this comment for journalist to talk about.

“I respect Kevin Prince Boateng so much for the kind of player he is, but that comment he made surprises and amazes me. I was not expecting that from him,” Gyan reiterated.

Kevin-Prince Boateng has not been part of the Ghana national team since his sack from camp over disciplinary issues prior to Ghana’s final group game against Portugal at the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
