GNFS Urges All To Respect The Ban On Hunting

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has urged everybody to respect on the ban on hunting wildlife.

The Brong-Ahafo Regional Fire Officer, Mr. James Owusu-Agyei, warned of drastic action against any offenders, when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani.

He asked the youth, who often engaged group hunting to stop doing that to avoid trouble.

Assistant Chief Fire Officer (ACFO) Owusu-Agyei outlined measures put in place by the Service to help prevent bushfires in the area during this period of the dry season.

He indicated that more fire volunteers had been trained in the farming communities to assist farmers to burn their farms.

There had also been extensive public education on how to properly handle naked fires, he added.

ACFO Owusu-Agyei called on the people to heed fire safety education to stop the loss of lives and property through fire disasters.
