Allow Jesus Christ into your lives - Bishop

Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel K. Asante, Presiding Bishop of Methodist Church of Ghana, has called on Christians to accept Jesus Christ into their lives to benefit from the significance of his death and resurrection. He said: "Jesus Christ defied the laws of nature and His death permitted Christians to undertake what they could not do or achieve previously". Most Rev. Asante made the call when delivering the sermon to climax the 90th anniversary celebration of Rev. Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist Church, Adabraka in Accra last Sunday. The celebration was under the theme: "Thy Will Be Done On Earth". Most Rev. Asante said: "Christ without blemish came into the world to atone for sins of mankind and His blood used to replace sacrifice of mankind annually for forgiveness". He advised parents to make their children's education a priority and involved in their academic, social and spiritual development. He said parents had a prime responsibility of nurturing into achievers to ensure adequate human resource development for the nation in future. Ms. Rita Amparbin, member of the anniversary planning committee said the church was established in 1919 under leadership of the late S. B. Addy who was in-charge and voluntarily supervised the young church and the Sunday school established simultaneously. She said with faith and dedication, the church had won many souls for God since its inception. Ms. Amparbin said the church had established a kindergarten, basic and junior high schools to encourage education and inculcate good morals in the youth.
