Is The Flagstaff House Now Producing Merchants Of Falsehood?

A butterfly thinks itself a bird because it can fly.  I thought at the end of the elections Ghana was the beautiful bride but it has turned out to be something else.

All in the name of creating the impression that the NDC government created looted and shared a lot of state assets; now there is a lot of insults and lies going on about the NDC.

Presidential staffers should know better that no amount of insults and name calling can stop Ghanaians from taking them on their promises. And to those others willing to open their ‘latrine’ mouths on social media to call members of the NDC thieves, they should better advise themselves.

One culprit I can name is Napaga Tia Sulemana, she should know that the internet is the bearer of world’s largest and greatest democracy. Social Media is the habitat of billions of freedom lovers who want to share and exchange their thoughts, opinions, experiences and even ideas with individuals, groups and businesses across countries and continents. It would have been better if she had choosen her words wisely.

Our elders say that : to count your teeth with your tongue does not mean you are losing any. It means you should watch your steps and reflect on what may have happened and is happening. It's time for Ghanaians to sit up and tell this lady to stop these acts of self-destruction.

I read on Ghana web that a Presidential staffer, Napaga Tia Sulemana has described officials of the former National Democratic Congress (NDC) as stealers. If she were not a political appointee, I would have effectively confined her statement to the political dustbin.

When the truth offers them no solace, they resort to lies.

Madam Napaga Tia Sulemana is alleging that, some former officials of the previous administration have stolen television sets, computers, DSTV Machines and cars at the presidency and has charged them to return them.

She has the political temerity especially from the NPP to call the NDC appointees thieves. No wonder she’s coming from a party of "everything goes". There is no moral parameter of eligibility for NPP membership. So long as you can help in winning elections in your area, just walk through the door. It does not matter if you are a convict, murderer, sponsor of terrorism and crimes against humanity. Come to NPP. You are welcome to the Elephant.

Already there is a brouhaha over some ‘missing 200 vehicles’ as alleged by the Head of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin. He said the situation has compelled the President to resort to the use of “his own Land Cruiser.”

Napaga Sulemana Tia adding to the allegation took to her Facebook wall and wrote: ‘’Bring back the TV sets, Computers, DSTV Machines and the cars.

But power is the name of the game in our renascent democracy. The lust for power has bleached the NPP of any unique identity. NPP is open to all sorts of questionable characters of politicians. In fact, if you are in NDC you are a thief, rogue and robber. But once you cross into NPP, they think you have become progressive.

But as I have always written, the opposition NPP has shown their insincerity to the NDC and former President Mahama. With their quasi-patriotism which is characterized and focused on only filling their bellies, they think they will deceive Ghanaians into believing the reasons for ganging-up against the NDC is borne out of their genuine intention to prosper Ghana.

No. They are just political buccaneers with no clear vision or mission for the country. Only interested in what they will garner from the public treasury while using coated vendetta and fake honesty as tools of playing to the gallery. It was Malcolm X who said “You’re not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who says it.”

From her statement the government of President Akuffo Addo is replete with envy, deceits, and doublespeak. The present Ghanaian government has done everything to disparage former President John Mahama albeit failingly.

The NPP led Akufo -Addo government has a hatred for anything John Mahama , and blames him for anything wrong with . Nana forgot that there's no way any president or anybody can be only good or only bad; there's good and bad in all of us, just as Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) said that "There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us.

Instead of President Nana Addo to lead by bringing about the so called change that propelled him to power, he ignores such statements that go on disparaging his predecessor.

I would to ask the president why he chose to work with Napaga Sulemana Tia at the Presidency. She can really insult! Her presence doesn’t differ from the saying that states that "it's the rat at home that told the rat in the bush that there's fish in the food cage hanging by the fire place".

My dictionary defines an insult as “to treat, mention, or speak to rudely; offend; an offensive or contemptuous remark or action…to treat with gross insensitivity, insolence, or contemptuous rudeness.”

That is why gestures, such as rolling of the eyes or hissing, can serve as the vehicle for delivering an insult, but an insult is more effective when the object sees, hears or reads it.

My advice to her is to tell the president the truth. We must all be responsive and most importantly have to rise above ethnocentric mentality in the Ghanaian political arena.

Ideal democracy is always a game of majority rule and minority rights and anything short of that is a scam.
