Stop Messing Up The Future - Minister

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. Simon Osei-Mensah has asked students to stay away from any bad conduct that could mess up their future.

They should show responsibility, be disciplined and avoid the temptation to cut corners.

He made the call in an address read for him at a speech and prize-giving day of the New Edubiase Senior High School (SHS) in the Adansi South District.

Mr. Osei-Mensah reminded them about the need for hard work, telling them that, this was the road to life success
He repeated the government’s commitment to the development of education – create the opportunity for every Ghanaian child to have access to quality education.

The Regional Minister appealed to teachers to do more to enhance classroom performance.

He indicated that they had critical role to play to raise the quality of education adding that, "the transformation of the nation’s education, places the teacher at the centre of things".

Professor Stephen Adei, the Dean of Arts and Science, Ashesi University College, called for the reduction of subjects taught at the SHS.

These, he said, should not be more than six, and he insisted, that would allow for effective teaching and strong performance of students in the core subjects- English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
