Nana Akwasi Agyeman Declares Support For Incoming Mayor of Kumasi

The former Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Nana Akwasi Agyeman, has declared his unflinching support for Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi who has recently been nominated by the President as the incoming Mayor of Kumasi.

The former Mayor said he is prepared to support the incoming Chief Executive and the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to achieve its aims and objectives of developing Ghana through massive industrialization.

Nana Agyeman declared his support when Mr. Assibey Antwi in the company of some Assembly Members paid a courtesy call on him as part of efforts to shore up support and goodwill ahead of an emergency meeting of Assembly Members of the KMA to confirm the latter’s nomination on Friday.

“He is respectful and mindful of his actions and for that reason he will discharge his duties creditably to the benefit of Kumasi” he said of the new Mayor, whiles urging Ghanaians to also support the government to deliver on its promises.

He also described Mr. Assibey Antwi as an incorruptible gentleman who will not mismanage the Assembly and he is an open-minded and hard working individual who can lead the KMA to deliver on quality services to the citizens of Kumasi.

Nana Agyeman who was affectionately called Okum-kom by residents of Kumasi advised Mr. Assibey Antwi to work hard to help the government to make Ghana a better place for all and also maintain the peace the nation is noted for over the past years.

He expressed gratitude to the incoming Mayor and his entourage for the honour done him by the visit and he prayed for God’s blessings on Mr. Assibey Antwi as he prepares to assume the very important KMA seat.

According to Nana Agyeman, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has kick-started his administration on a good note, which indicates that better times are ahead for the nation and with unity of purpose and peace the nation will attain its development.

Nana Agyeman said Ghanaians prayed hard for Nana Akuffo-Addo to be elected to the highest office of the land and the support shown to the president during the elections should continue to help the government to rule creditably.
