The Auditor-General says it has forwarded the submission of seven reports to Parliament in fulfilment of his constitutional mandate.
A statement signed by Reverend Joseph K. Ghunney, the Director of the Public Relations Unit of the Ghana Audit Service and copied to the Ghana News Agency said: “The Auditor-General wishes to inform all stakeholders and the public about the submission of the under-listed reports to Parliament in fulfilment of his constitutional mandate.
These are: Auditor-General’s report on the Public Accounts of Ghana–Consolidated Fund for the year ended 31 December 2015.
Performance audit report of the Auditor-General on Governance of the National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) by the Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (COTVET)
Performance audit report of the Auditor-General on Implementation of Local Content in the Oil and Gas Sector of Ghana
Performance audit report of the Auditor-General on Disposal of Government Vehicles by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ghana Health Service Performance audit report of the Auditor-General on ensuring Safety and Quality of Medicines in Ghana
Auditor-General’s report on Bank of Ghana Receipts and Payment for the half year ended 30 June 2015; and Auditor-General’s report on Bank of Ghana Receipts and Payment for the half year ended 31 December 2015.
The statement said, The Auditor-General has, in accordance with its mandate, conducted financial audit of the Consolidated Fund of Ghana, and the Receipts and Payments Accounts of Bank of Ghana for the year ended 31 December 2015; and the performance audit on Governance of the National Apprenticeship Programme , Implementation of Local Content in the Oil and Gas Sector of Ghana, Disposal of Government Vehicles by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and the Ghana Health Service, and the Safety and Quality of Medicines in Ghana, and submitted the reports thereon to the Speaker of Parliament.
It said the above reports have been submitted to Parliament in pursuance of Article 187(2) which states that; “The public accounts of Ghana and of all public offices, including the courts, the central and local government administrations, of the Universities and public institutions of like nature, of any public corporation or other body or organisation established by an Act of Parliament shall be audited and reported on by the Auditor-General”.
