I Salute NPP For Their Bold Decisions Prior To 2016 Elections – NDC Communicator

Member of the National Democratic Congress [NDC] communications team, Mr. William Afum Ani-Agyei has confessed his total salute for the ruling government on some strong decisions it took during its opposition days.

The New Patriotic Party [NPP] during its difficult days approaching the 2016 elections suspended its National Chairman, Paul Afoko and the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong for not being on course with party rules by its National Executive Council.

This raised a lot of tension within the party and backlash from opposition parties against the NPP, but they stood on their decision.

Mr. Agyei, popularly known as ‘Obama’ emphasized his confidence in the NPP for standing tall even in their difficult days to fight such a strong fight, when they[NDC] who had the chance and resources at their disposal to make things positive failed.

“Really NPP took a strong decision which has made them who they are today, and am touched by that move.”

According to him, he is not disputing issues raised against his party by some party members and leaders in recent times as factors that amounted to the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections, but his beef is for the individuals to keep their grievances until the 13 member committee set up by the party led by Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, a former Minister of Finance and Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), set to investigate the matter are done with their official report.

“Indeed I was surprised we didn’t win fully even one constituency out of the 275 constituencies in Ghana,” he lamented on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ show.
