Ghana Football Association Executive member Winfred Osei Palmer has called on stake holders to avoid calls for the impeachment of FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi.
 
Nyantakyi has been under pressure to vacate the position as the Ghana Football Association President after 12 years in office.

The FIFA council member has been blamed for the dwindling nature of the Ghana Premier League despite playing a key role in helping the various National teams to achieve success on the continent and the globe.

The Black Stars have been able to qualify for three successive FIFA World Cups under the reign of the CAF executive committee member.

Ghana made history as the first Africa country to win the FIFA World Youth Championship when the Black Satellites won the competition in 2009.

Also the country’s female U17 team (Black Maidens) were able to clinch bronze at the 2012 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan.

However much can’t be said on the local League which has been in tatters for the past 10 years utimaly affecting Ghana’s slots in Africa competitions thus the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup.

Palmer, who doubles as the owner and President of Ghana Premier League side Tema Youth wants his colleague ( Kwesi Nyantakyi) to complete his term in office.

“He (Nyantakyi) must be allowed to serve his term in office, he was elected and not appointed,” he told Atinka FM.

“And I don’t think anyone can force him out especially when he is not ready to resign. He is working and he must be allowed to work.

“He should be allowed to serve his term, if delegates think he is not the right person to lead Ghana Football he will be out but if delegates are in support of his works he will still continue.”

The WA All Stars owner (Nyantakyi) is the longest serving Ghana Football Association President after he took over from Dr Nyaho Tamaklo in 2005.
