Iduapriem Observes 2017 Thanksgiving Service

Management and Employees of AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Mine have observed a thanksgiving service on the premises of the Mine in Tarkwa.

The service saw in attendance stakeholders in the mines among others.

This year’s thanksgiving service was under the theme “Give thanks to God for His mercies endureth forever”.

Delivering her speech, Deputy Regional Minister, Mrs Gifty Kusi underscored the need for mining companies to let their presence have a positive impact in their communities.

She commended Iduapriem Mine for its numerous social interventions to its mining communities and for setting up Trust Fund projects including a scholarship scheme aimed at improving the lives of the residents.

Mrs. Eugenia Kusi also reiterated government’s directive to clamp down on illegal mining menace.

She noted that as part of measures to curb the menace, the government is instituting a taskforce to check the activities of the illegal miners and further ensure they face the full rigors of the law.

Bishop of the Methodist church at Tarkwa, Rev. Amponsah Donkor on his part tasked management of the mining company to seek God in all aspects of its operations.

He was full of praise for the Mine in putting a thanksgiving service on its calendar.

The Managing Director of the Mine, Jasper Musadaidzwa remarked that the Mine is committed to its values of enhancing the progress of the communities it operates from.

Walking the audience through the operations of the Mine in 2016, he stated that the Mine will be resolute to achieve its objectives for the year.

He thanked its cherished stakeholders for their support.
