NPP Doesn't Support "Delta Force" Attacks . . . - Nana Akomea

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned in no uncertain terms recent attacks by Delta Force in the Ashanti Region.

The party has petitioned the Police Service to crack the whip on the members of the Delta Force and ensure law and order in the Region.

The party doesn’t agree with them. The party will allow the Police to work . . . In no time, the laws will take its course for everyone to know that we don’t condone such actions,” Communications Director of the NPP, Director of Communications for the NPP, Nana Akomea stressed on the Friday's edition of 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM.

Though admitting that the Delta Force members are NPP faithfuls, he however, held strongly that the vigilante group's actions are discreditable and disgraceful to the party.

According to him, any individual or group including the Delta Force that flout the country's laws should not be left off the hook.

Mr. Akomea further found it ridiculous that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have suddenly found its voice and criticizing the government over the Delta Force incidents while they failed to bring their "boys" - Montie 3 - to order and would even release them from prison.

Although he does not seek to score political points, he believes it is hypocritical of the opposition party to descend on the President.

He pledged President Nana Akufo-Addo's commitment to clamping down on any militant group in the country and noted the President is not in support of the attacks by the "Delta Force".

Also commenting on the issue on 'Kokrokoo', the former Deputy Minister for Power, John Jinapor called for a ceasefire by the "Delta Force".

Making reference to some statements by the President prior to last year's elections, John Jinapor said he (Nana Addo) was very critical of the erstwhile Mahama administration, lambasting former President John Mahama for failing to address militant groups that arose under his watch.

He therefore wants His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to honor his words to Ghanaians regarding vigilante groups by first taking necessary punitive actions against the Delta Force for their blatant disregard of the country's laws.
