Following Today’s exposé about the invasion of illegal miners at Tipokrom and Atoom communities in the Asunfo North Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region, personnel of the Ghana Police Service from the municipality have moved in to drive them away.

The action by the police, which occurred on Sunday, April 3, 2017, according to information available to Today, came as s a huge sigh of relief  to the chiefs and people of the sixty nine (69) communities within the Asunafo North Municipality.

They congratulated the police for their quick intervention.

It would be called that the chiefs and people in the 69 communities in the municipality on Friday, March 31, 2017 demonstrated against illegal mining activities going on in their communities which story was published in Today.
