NLA Supports Underprivileged This Easter

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility donated some food items to some churches and institutions to celebrate Easter.

This forms part of the Authority’s second mandate to support the needy, destitute and vulnerable in society.

The items included bags of rice, gallons of oil, cartons of soft drinks and boxes of canned products.

Director General of NLA, Kofi Osei-Ameyaw together with management presented the items to support the 2017 edition of Joy FM’s annual Easter Soup Kitchen which fetes thousands of underprivileged in society.

He also donated the items to management and staff of Citi FM to support the annual Easter Orphan Project which supports some selected orphanages in the country.

The Dzorwulu Special School which caters for children with Special needs also received some items.

Additionally, six churches in the Atimpoku and Juapong areas including the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Catholic Church and the Church of Pentecost among others were also presented with some food items to support their annual picnics for the destitute in their localities.

Director General of NLA, Kofi Osei- Ameyaw, said the gesture forms part of the Authority’s Corporate Social Responsibility and mission to give hope and happiness to society particularly the underprivileged during occasions such as Easter to make them feel loved and cared for.

He mentioned that when people play NLA Games and do not win, the money goes to support projects such as these so even if you do not win, you are a still a winner as your money goes to support national development.

Mr.Osei- Ameyaw commended the institutions and churches for the good work and assured them of NLA’s continuous support in the coming years.

The recipients thanked NLA for the support and called on other organizations to emulate same.
