Officials At The Ghana Mission In Riyadh Must Be Up And Doing

It is with sorrow that I write this piece to draw the attention of the authorities that matter to put these issues in check as they remain issues that may endanger Ghanaians living in the Saudi Kingdom and the other gulf countries.

I am aware of one Mr. Marcel Domayele, Ghana's Minister Counselor and Acting Head of Mission at our Mission in Riyadh and the sort of actions and inactions he has taken to the detriment of Ghanaians living out there in the Middle East.

As an acting Head of the Mission, I'd expect that he is reactive to the concerns of Ghanaians. Just last year around this time, the then ambassador led the charge to repatriate Ghanaians living under harsh conditions in Kuwait. Fast forward many people living under same conditions in same jurisdiction cannot even reach him in his office for assistance.

The few that have fortunately met him have been met with discourteous actions. I believe it's a statute that diplomats must be genteel in dealing their compatriots thus Ghanaians living here. Now it takes several days to even book an appointment to see our Head of Mission.

One Mr. Adams who happens to be the consular at the mission in Riyadh has partially neglected his responsibilities to the Ghanaian people living in the Middle East.

Perhaps this may have been influenced by the direct actions of his superior. I sincerely hope that my genuine sentiments as being expressed in this statement would go a long way to help the two carry out their duties diligently.

I humbly plead with the Hon Minister for Foreign Affairs & Regional Integration to order these two envoys to act with alacrity in resolving the many concerns facing us in this country and the many other ones that fall under their jurisdiction.

Thank you.
