Man Capital Partners To The Rescue Of Stranded Mothers @ Korle Bu

The joy of every man, woman and indeed family is when a new baby is born into the family.

In most homes and families, child birth comes with great celebrations, jubilations and fanfare.

Unfortunately, it appears in Ghana that most of such jubilations and celebrations are only reserved for the rich and privileged. In most poor households, pregnant women are made to go through “double agony”- the sheer pain of labour which is mostly transitional and the more enduring economic pain of finding money to pay for hospital bills after delivery.

It is a common occurrence across Ghana to witness the unfortunate sight of women being held hostage at the various health facilities because of their inability to pay their medical bills after delivery. It has been severally reported that such women sometimes stay at these hospitals for months with their babies.

These women and their innocent babies therefore suffer the humiliation and ignominy of being kept hostage until such time when some benevolent group of individuals come to their rescue through the payment of their bills.

It was against this backdrop that Man Capital Partners on Thursday, the 13th of April 2017 donated cash to the Maternity Department of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. The donations focused on coming to the aid of women that for obvious reasons are unable to pay their medical bills after delivery and have been kept hostage by the hospital.

The rational for this noble and kind gesture stemmed from the company’s believe that each child should have a fair start in life and that babies should not be burdened right from the on-set with issues of debt, humiliation, destitute and neglect.

This in effect was our widow’s might towards alleviating the plight of these mothers. The company also donated some items including toiletries, detergents, diapers in addition to the cash donation to the mothers and the maternity ward. The company furthermore provided some cash in envelopes to the beneficiaries to be used as transportation back to their various homes. The total package of the donations is estimated to be about GH¢20,000.00

The company further added that the Man Capital Easter Rescue will be an annual affair where the company in collaboration with other benevolent Ghanaian institutions, bodies and concerned individuals will rescue women and babies who are unable to foot their medical bills.

This gesture is a way of giving back to society and to also let the public know that Man Capital Partners is not all about investments and wealth management but that, the company has the welfare of women and babies at heart.
